Raise Your Ghosts - Velvet & Stone
Our LCM featured indie folk band today are from Exeter in Devon. At the very heart of Velvet & Stone are Lara Snowdon (vocals, guitar) and Kathryn Tremlett (violin, keys, vocals). A very warm welcome to the LCM FB Group Lara and Kathryn :) They combine rich vocals, acoustic guitar and violin, to give an original take on a traditional genre. Drawing upon personal stories, melancholy Celtic tales and landscapes, they create a serene, and haunting sound that is difficult to forget. Their debut record "The Storm" was released in April 2016 and has received critical acclaim and airplay across the UK and internationally. The band have quickly built upon this success playing at Cambridge Folk Festival, Sidmouth Folk Festival, WonderFields, Somersault and Celtic Connections among many others. The band are working on an exciting new line-up and sound and looking forward to returning to the studio.
