Celluloid Dream - Tom Hyatt

Our next LCM featured artist Tom Hyatt is rapidly gaining a great reputation on the London live circuit. He recently released his new debut live 7-track album 'Live At The Spiritual' recorded at Camden's very own 'Spiritual Caipirinha'. Our LCM #TrackOfTheDay 'Celluloid Dream' is a wonderful example of his live set complemented by Maya McCourt (Cello) and Tom Lees (Piano). The album was recorded on the 13th June 2016 by Steve Watson. https://youtu.be/EUbkJAuBabs

Tom is next playing in London on the 11th May at The Slaughtered Lamb and on 26th May at The Water Rats for Joe Innes' album launch.

Tom Hyatt is a unique and stand-out artist on the London live circuit. His explosive voice delivers dynamic and forthright songs, backed by propulsive guitar or contemplative piano.

Tom’s songwriting began to take form whilst reading Physics and Philosophy at Oxford: “I’d emerge bleary-eyed from the library post-midnight ready for bed, but head first to the college chapel piano to sing into the darkness”. After years distilling reality down to its fundamental parts, Lancashire-grown Hyatt headed to London in search of the long neglected right-side of the brain. Martin guitar in hand, the capital’s clubs and folk rooms soon reverberated with his original compositions. A reputation for captivating live shows began to grow amongst his contemporaries, as old habits lead Hyatt to distil the singer/songwriter down to it’s most compelling roots.

With performances at the likes of the National Portrait Gallery, Danny Boyle’s Shuffle Festival and Bestival, it was Spiritual Bar in Camden that would prove to be the best fit for Hyatt’s mind and music. It’s unique authenticity and eclectic scene of rock, folk and blues musicians honed Hyatt’s craft, captured on his debut live album, Live at Spiritual (2017).
