LCM Song Of The Day: ‘Quick Fix’ - Sam Morrow

Another highlight of the AMA UK showcases was LA based singer-songwriter Sam Morrow. His music is a fusion of Texas twang, southern stomp and old-school funky-tonk. Our featured track today is ‘Quick Fix’ the first single from Sam’s latest album ‘Concrete and Mud’ which was released in April 2018. It is an infectious hook laden mix of syncopated beats with bubbling clavinet, slinky guitars and doubled vocals. There's also an undercurrent of classic country running throughout the mix.

It’s a very exciting time in Californian music scene at the moment as Sam joins US west coast Country and Americana heavyweights like Sam Outlaw, Jade Jackson and Sam Morrow's friend and label mate, Jaime Wyatt (who guests on the album). ‘Concrete and Mud’ builds a bridge between opposing camps: country and rock & roll; the West Coast and the American South. Sam comments "The sentiment is that the things that unite us are stronger than the forces that divide us.”.
