Wildwood Kin - Beauty In Your Brokenness
LCM Song Of The Day: ‘Beauty In Your Brokenness - Wildwood Kin
We love this new single from South West family trio Wildwood Kin. With rich pure harmonies and high-quality songwriting, the trio are quickly becoming one of the fast-rising stars of UK Americana and Folk. Their excellent brand new self-titled second album is set for release on October 4th. We have heard some of the tracks live and you are in for a treat.
“Beauty in Your Brokenness” is a wonderful acoustic track themed around self-acceptance. Taking inspiration from the Japanese art of ‘Kintsugi’ (the idea of something becoming more beautiful for having been damaged or broken), the visuals from the track are memorably unique.
Beth explains "It's a Japanese art where they take broken pottery and put it back together using lacquer, dusted with gold and silver powder, to make a unique piece of art with intricate patterns only the brokenness creates. It is a reminder that our imperfections, mishaps and tragedies shape us and make us who we are.”
“We wanted the video to create a light-hearted, natural vibe to reflect the meaning behind the song and our personalities”, continues Meg. “We decided to choose warm, gold colours to represent the Kintsugi inspired meaning behind the song. It was a great experience working with the team from Sitcom Soldiers. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we did making it”.
Wildwood Kin are headlining at Omeara in London on November 11th as part of their new ‘Headed To The Water’ tour.
