LCM Song Of The Day: ‘Do Better’ - Lauren Morrow

Rocking a cool Sheryl Crow vibe our LCM featured track today is the wonderful ‘Do Better’ by US singer-songwriter Lauren Morrow. Lauren released her solo self titled four-song EP in October after over a decade as the centerpiece of popular Americana band The Whiskey Gentry. It’s filled with stories; some real, some fiction, all universal yet personal.

Founded on a collaborative mentality, Lauren and her husband, guitarist, and co-producer Jason recruited an all-star lineup of Nashville’s most notable players for the new project, including drummer Jerry Pentecost, pedal steel player Whit Wright, bassist Ted Pecchio, guitarist Adam Meisterhans, and former Deer Tick member Robbie Crowell on keys. Recorded at the historic Nashville studio Creative Workshop with producer/engineer Parker Cason, the Lauren Morrow EP not only showcases Morrow’s flawless vocals and intricate songwriting but her willingness to take risks — an edge that makes her stand out from the Nashville norm.
