Our next showcase artist is US singer-songwriter Jennifer Ann Keller who we had the great pleasure of meeting at the Finsbury last weekend at a UNICEF fundraiser. Jennifer's very good instrumental cover version of 'Mad World' is currently being used by Lloyd's Bank on their new advert. The original song as many of you know was originally released by Tears For Fears in 1983 and a later stripped and atmospheric piano version was recorded by Gary Jules and Michael Andrews for the film 'Donnie Darko' (Remember the giant rabbit Frank?) in 2001.

Jennifer Ann is a singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer, originally from Minnesota, USA, and currently based in London, UK. Jennifer released her first album of instrumental originals in 2015 and is currently working on her next release, which will feature a combination of vocal works, covers, and originals. She is influenced by a range of artists from folk backgrounds to contemporary classical, such as Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, Fleet Foxes, Ludovico Einaudi, and Dustin O’Halloran. Jennifer’s music is emotional and passionate, and her voice has been described as both angelic and haunting.
Jennifer grew up in Circle Pines, MN, USA, where her early life was spent surrounded by the music of classic artists such as The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, and Crosby, Stills, & Nash. She began piano lessons as a child and later went on to study flute to an advanced degree. Jennifer also plays guitar, of which she is self-taught. Jennifer studied for her BA in music studies and psychology at the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University in Minnesota. Much of her time was spent playing and singing in various choral, orchestral and band ensembles, as well as performing and accompanying on piano. Jennifer completed her MA in music therapy at the University of Roehampton in 2015. She credits her experiences as a music therapist in shaping her more recent musical works.
‘Mad World’, has been released in both its original and instrumental forms on most digital platforms. It is currently being used in a Lloyds Bank advertising campaign, which has charted as the 2nd most Shazam-ed ad in the UK and the 14th most Shazam-ed track in the UK. On Amazon UK, it charted at #3 in album sales, and charted at #10 in iTunes UK’s singer-songwriter songs sales.
Jennifer’s first album of piano works – “Reflections” – was released October 2015 and is available on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, and many other online stores. Current projects include her upcoming album and future collaborations.
