We Used to Make Things (WUTMT) are one of our favourite live bands in London. They are great songwriters and added to some beautiful four part harmonies make for a very special band. They released their debut EP 'Love in a Minor Key' to critical acclaim. There is a real quality to their songwriting and it reminds us of The Beatles, Kinks and The Divine Comedy. WUTMT are more than catchy pop songs, there is meaningful and powerful social commentary too.
WUTMT are a London-based 8 piece indie-pop band. They come to you with big horns, big harmonies and a healthy respect for a melodic hook and fat groove. Laced with warm, witty lyrics about dissatisfaction, personal politics and the kind of characters Mike Leigh and Pinter would be proud of. Their journey is in turn funny, poignant but also very good to dance to.
The band have created an electrifying and entertaining live show that has enthralled an impressive range of audiences. They have played festivals including Larmer Tree, Secret Garden Party, Standon Calling and more locally at venues from the Union Chapel, The Lexington, O2 Islington and St. Pancras Old Church to Ronnie Scotts.
We Used to Make Things also perform their music as a vocal group with intimate four part harmonies and delicate acoustic tones.
They are a band rapidly goes places with something very important to share with the world.
The band are releasing their self titled debut album on 9th September, 2016.
