Samantha Whates is a excellent Scottish singer-songwriter with a beautiful vocal. Samantha is orginally from Montrose but is now London based. Apart from her solo projects including her excellent 'Dark Nights Make for Brighter Days' album, Samantha has also worked and recorded with Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker, Ross Wilson (Blue Rose Code), MG Boulter (Lucky Strikes), Fiona Bevan, Chris Coco, Gwyneth Herbert and The Chaps Choir among many others. Samantha is also part of the new PIca Pica project together with Josienne Clarke and Adam Bettie.
Samantha provided vocals for the award-winning Barclays EPL football advert with a great cover version of 'Can't Stop Loving You' written originally by Billy Nichols.
All of here at Laurel Canyon Towers are looking forward to Samantha's crowdfunded second album 'Waiting Rooms' due for release through Pledge Music later this year. We all think it is going to be very special.
Confessional, conversational and understated, Samantha Whates has a deceptively forceful voice will find a place deep inside your soul and stay around for years to come.
