Hurts Like Paradise - Amy Lawton
We stay in sunny London today to meet our next LCM featured artist Amy Lawton, a wonderful new singer-songwriter originally from Manchester & Loughborough. Our LCM #SongOfTheDay is Amy's latest upbeat country pop single 'Hurts Like Paradise', which really reminds us of a early country-era Talyor Swift, Charlotte Campbell and Katie Nicholas. Amy wrote the song alongside the multi-platinum selling hit songwriter Matty Benbrook (Paolo Nutini, Jack Savoretti, Dido) and she has also worked with the likes of Dee Adams (Diana Vickers, Newton Faulkner), Jess Sherman (Ward Thomas), Pam Sheyne (Christina Aguilera, Corinne Bailey Rae) and Paul Herman (Dido).
Coming armed with experience well beyond her 20 years, Amy has been honing her craft on the London live scene, playing at venues all over the capital, including Ronnie Scott's, The Troubadour and many more. Her biggest show came as support to Jack Savoretti last year at London’s Cadogan Hall. More recently, she’s held a six-week residency at the West End nightspot Mahiki earlier this year. Also please check out Amy's debut single 'Undone' which received much praise when it was released last September.
Amy will be making her very first festival appearance this week at The Great Escape, where she will play The Chillout Sessions, Caffe Nero on Friday at 1pm. She’s also announced two London live shows and will play Ronnie Scott’s on June 5th and The Lock Tavern on June 12th.
