Carry Me Away - Cerian
The current London independent music scene is a hotbed of special talent and our next LCM featured artist Cerian Holland is another great example. It was a pleasure to meet Cerian recently at The Acoustic Sanctuary gig and listen to her music for the first time. The very talented Cerian is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist classically trained in voice, piano and harp. She has been described as a cross between Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell and London Grammar. She weaves together melodic vocals and rich harmony with a love of poetry and literature, her songs often quoting from legendary writers such as William Blake, Jack Kerouac, Percy Bysshe Shelle and Lewis Carroll to create heartfelt poetic musical journeys. As an introduction to Cerian's music our LCM #SongOfTheDay is a beautiful live version of 'Carry Me Home' taken from a Tea Films Session.
If you would like to see Cerian live she will be performing at The Acoustic Guitar Project Concert at The Bedford on the 26th March and The Spice Of Live on the 29th April.
Within a month of releasing her first song online, Cerian was a BBC Introducing featured artist and has been played nationally on BBC Radio on a number of occasions, to much critical acclaim. She recently enjoyed recording with Radiohead on their new album "A Moon Shaped Pool" and can be heard on six tracks.
Cerian was and brings together a wide variety of different influences and musical experiences along with her extensive vocal range to create beautiful soaring songs. Having sung with the likes of Radiohead, Sam Smith, Imogen Heap, Laura Mvula, Newton Faulkner and Charlotte Church, she is now taking on the world with her own brand of contemporary ethereal folk.
Cerian is looking forward to her first official release of music this year. So please sign up to the her mailing list to receive all the latest news.
