Broadwalks - Little May
We stay in Sydney to meet our next LCM featured artists Liz Drummond & Hannah Field better known as folk-pop band Little May. Our LCM #SongOfTheDay is the beautiful 'Broadwalks' originally taken from their self titled debut EP and later included as a remixed bonus track on their debut album 'For The Company'. It's a very exciting time for this very talented duo, as they have just supported The National on their recent Australian tour
Little May was founded in Sydney in 2012 by singer Hannah Field with guitarists Liz Drummond and Annie Hamilton. The band got its inspiration from The National and alt-J .After several performances in the Sydney area, the band released a self-titled EP in 2014, which they had been working on for two years. The EP generated a lot of attention. In 2015 they worked on their debut album in New York . The album was produced by Aaron Dessner of The National. In 2015 the band went on an extensive tour through Europe, where they were supported by bassist and keyboard player Mark Harding and drummer Cat Hunter. On 9 October 2015 their debut album 'For The Company' was released. The band wrote all 13 songs. Aaron Dessner, who played on the record on various instruments, was named as co-writer on three songs.
