Georgia van Etten - Take My Hand
LCM Song Of The Day: ‘Take My Hand’ - Georgia van Etten
We love this live version of ‘Take My Hand’ by London based Australian singer-songwriter Georgia van Etten. It’s taken from her debut EP 'Live at the Pool Studio', which was directed by Mark Fewell at 2ft4 Productions. A big thank you to Mark Ede for the recommendation.
Georgia van Etten is a soulful, blues-driven songstress based in London with a unique voice and a badass mouth trumpet. She has wowed audiences globally from major festivals in her homeland Australia, to Ronnie Scotts to famous European stages like Montreux Jazz (Switzerland), Porretta Soul (Italy), and Jazz à Vienne (France).
Together with a killer 10-piece band, Georgia recently released her debut EP: Live at the Pool Studio. Lead single ‘Take My Hand’ gained airplay on BBC Radio 2 with Jamie Cullum remarking "Love her voice, this really blew me away when I first heard it," and its video premiered in prestigious UK publication The Telegraph. UNILAD SOUND featured a short clip from second track 'Sugar' that reached viral views and shows off van Etten's impressive mouth trumpet coining her the 'Human Trumpet.' Major Australian blog The AU Review premiered the video for 'Sugar' with excellent response proving her honest songwriting is just as fierce as her voice. The success of her debut EP also led to a run of sell-out London dates, and a highly successful Australian tour.
Georgia has written and recorded extensively with soul-electro artist and producer Alice Ivy who has quickly risen to fame in Australia after success with tracks 'Touch' and 'Almost Here' that feature van Etten. Together they have toured the UK and Germany and recently played the famous 'Falls Festival' in Lorne, Australia as well as supported Foster The People at The Forum, Melbourne. In 2017 she also featured on London Topaz track 'Midnight' which was heavily celebrated in the electronic scene.
