The 1970's - Paul Mosley and the RMO
LCM Song Of The Day: ‘The 1970’s’ - Paul Mosley and The Red Meat Orchestra
Taken from his excellent new album ‘You're Going To Die!', ‘The 1970’s’ is a nostalgic look back at memories and Paul’s family life in the 1970’s. Joined by the wonderful RMO and featuring BBC2 Folk award winner Josienne Clarke, this track is in another great addition to Paul’s musical catalogue.
Paul comments “When you were young did you ever say to yourself 'I will remember this moment for ever' and try, really try to memorise everything about that 'now' to keep in your head for all time? I think I did, and I think it was when we were driving, as a family, at night, in the 1970's. My Dad, My Mam, My sister, my brothers and me. That is who we were. And now we've lost one of them and those memories have a different feel. But in a version of our life thats as real now as it was then you and you and you and you and you and me, we are family, and it will always be, the 1970s”. Me and Josienne Clarke relive those car journeys, balloons, laughs, fights, Tupperware of sandwiches, the lot.”
