LCM Song Of The Day: ‘Holding On’ - The Luck
‘The Luck’ are London based brother and sister indie Americana duo Max and Esmay Luck. They have both been very busy in December releasing four wonderful singles, all of which are well worth checking out.
If you would like to see them live Max and Esmay will be showcasing at The AMA UK conference in London on the 29th January and then at Thousand Islands on the 12th April.
Their music is influenced by childhood heroes Fleetwood Mac, The Cranberries, Tom Petty and The Eagles. The band began touring the U.K. and Europe before setting off for the US to develop their sound in California, playing iconic venues such as ‘The Troubadour’ in LA. Paul Broucek, President of Music at Warner Brothers Pictures, was in the audience at one of their shows and shortly after approached to work with them to produce their debut album. Together in LA the album was recorded, collaborating with three-time Grammy Award-winning engineer/mixer Ed Cherney (The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt) and three-time Grammy Award winning musician/engineer/mixer Paul Hicks to mix the tracks.
The Luck’s songs have been featured on U.K. television shows such as ‘Country File’ and ‘Hollyoaks’ as well as gaining radio play in the US and Europe. Their song ‘Muscles and Bones’, also won a first place prize in the Nashville-based International Songwriting Competition.
The band are now back in London, hosting the California-inspired monthly Americana club night ‘Ventura Nights’ in Soho.
